Evolution of the platform feature set includes support for IPTV services, including Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) network interfaces for maximum compatibility with IP SDV Headends and evolving IP transport networks. The CNX-5Plus can start as a compact ATM DSLAM and later evolve to support GbE and IPTV services with a single card upgrade.

The CNX-5Plus is managed by the same proven CatenaView Element Management System (EMS) as the popular Ciena CNX-5 that is deployed in many carrier networks.
